Everon becomes official member of the OpenADR and Open Charge Alliance

EV charging management platform Everon becomes an official member of the OpenADR and Open Charge Alliance, to ensure open standards implementation throughout the energy and electric vehicle (EV) industry respectively.

AMSTERDAM, May 1, 2020 – The OpenADR Alliance is a corporation established to accelerate the development, adoption and compliance of standards that enforce a smart grid. Everon actively participates in the Alliance by validating and providing feedback based on real-life applications coming from their platform.

The Open Charge Alliance (OCA) is an electric vehicle (EV) industry alliance to foster global development, adoption and compliance of the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP). The goal of the protocol is to have a uniform solution for the method of communication between any charging station and a central management system. Everon’s feedback has direct impact on how the OCPP is shaped and how it will look like in the future. This collaboration ensures superior experience for the entire EV industry, whether you are a driver, site owner or network operator.

Everon and their customers contribute to and benefit from open industry standards. Utilities, for instance, can benefit from an increased grid reliability or attainment of demand response goals. On the other hand, businesses can maximize utility incentives and mitigate the impact of critical peak pricing.

“Open source and open standards have been the foundation of our software and digital transformation throughout the years. Being a member of OCA allows us to apply the very same principles and experiences in the EV charging world, in order to deliver the best user experience in a collaborative and open way”—said Piotr Krzepczak, Chief Technology Officer at Everon.

Being part of both established and widely adopted standards allows Everon, together with other crucial players, to contribute to the industry and move eMobility forward.
